Filipino Teachers Awarded $4.5 Million Dollars from Jury

school kids  Filipino teachers recruited to work in the United States ended up paying as much as $16,000 in fees to a company which recruited them. Today a jury in Los Angeles awarded the teachers $4.5 million because the company failed to disclose the fees before bringing them to the United States from the Philippines.

The Associated Press  reported the teachers were also required to turn over a percentage of their salary to the company, Universal Placement International Inc.
