A school district in South Sacramento has launched just the second Hmong Language immersion program in the country. Language immersion programs are nothing new, but this one is unique.
It’s just the second Hmong Immersion program in the country, patterned after one in St. Paul, Minnesota, reports Hyphen Magazine.
The idea of the Hmong immersion program is so students will become bicultural and biliterate in both English and Hmong,” explains Lee Yang (pronounced “Ya”), the principal of Susan B Anthony School.
