North Korea today confirmed it has arrested a Korean American in a move that threatens to increase the tensions with the United States, reported Reuter.
Kenneth Bae is an American tour guide from the Seattle, Washington area. His family, friends and associates in Seoul expressed concern last week. but this is the first formal acknowledgment by the Pyongyang government of the arrest.
It comes shortly after North Korea launched a test ballistic rocket which the US consider provocative.
The State News Agency, KCNA, reported that Bae has admitted his crimes. But those crimes have yet to be specified.
