NY Times: Low Income Students Face Major Hurdles in Closing Education Achievement Gap. rt @zapwoman

College CampusThe education gap between rich and poor students continues to widen, even among those who have been admitted to four year colleges. The disparity between those who graduate has increased to 45 percent, that’s up from 30 percent 30 years ago.

Fewer than 1 out of 3 low income students enroll into four year colleges. Fewer than half of those students graduate.  An incredible story in the  NY Times looks at some of the reasons for this widening gap.
