Politico: #Asian Americans Voted At a Lower Ratio Than Blacks & Whites in 2012

ballotBlack and White voters during the 2012 presidential election voted at a higher rate than their population, with Blacks voting at the highest rate, reported Politico.

African Americans make up 12 percent of the eligible electorate, but accounted for 13 percent of the total vote.

White voters also represented a higher percentage of the total vote than their actual population.

On the other hand, Asian Americans and Hispanics voted at a rate below their actual total voting population.

Asian Americans voted in record numbers in 2012, but that was because of population increases and not a higher participation rate.
