International Business Times: Outrage Over Racist “Make Me Asian” App Draws International Attention

GoogleMedia coverage of the Asian American community’s outrage over an insensitive app that mocks Asian facial features and relies on tired stereotypes has gone international.  The latest coverage can be found in the International Business Times.

The publication is described by Wikipedia as an online business publication published in seven languages and ten country editions. Other international coverage has been found in India Today, Daily Mail, & HIndustan Times.

Two petition drives have been launched demanding that Google remove the app from its play store. Google has so far refused, saying the App doesn’t violate its anti-hate speech policy.
