WBO junior featherweight champion Nonito Donaire told Sports Illustrated he almost committed suicide at the age of 10, The Ring reported. The Filipino Flash says he suffered from low self esteem and depression.
“My family didn’t have much. We didn’t need an extra mouth to feed,” Donaire is quoted as saying.
