City Councilwoman Patty Kim today became the first Asian American woman sworn in to the Pennsylvania State House. She will represent Harrisburg where she served on the City Council.
Her father Wayne Kim flew in from South Africa for the swearing in.
“To someone who went through the Korean War, coming here as an immigrant, to see his daughter, also the first Asian American woman to get worn in, is pretty special for him. It’s a great day,” Kim told the Patriot News.
