Daily Mail: Police in New Jersey Sued After Locking Asian American Teen in Freezing Van for 15 Hours

An Asian American teenager has sued the Ft Lee Police Department in Newark, New Jersey saying police locked him in a freezing police van for 15 hours without food or water, reports the  Daily Mail .

In his lawsuit Adam Kim accused the department of falsely arresting and illegally detaining him in violation of his civil rights.

The incident happened in 2011. Kim was detained with four others in the van after police broke up a house party.

The suit said the boys weren’t released until a passerby noticed the boys in the van and called police.
