A special exhibition, Beyond Bollywood, Indian Americans Shape the Nation, will be held in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, DC late this year. It will be the largest exhibition ever by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the first time an exhibition will be focused on Asian American culture. Beyond Bollywood will occupy 5,000 square feet and is expected to attract 7 million visitors before embarking on a national tour in 2015. “The Indian American story has yet to be fully told,” said Konrad Ng, director of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center. “This exhibition is about celebrating a community that embodies the American spirit.” TV Asia announced today it has agreed to sign on as a sponsor.
