KGO-TV: Suspect in Shooting at Korean American Christian School in Oakland Won’t Stand Trial

CATEGORIES

gavelA judge in Oakland ruled the suspect in the shooting at Oikos University that left 7 dead last April is incompetent to stand trial. The ruling was made after a second psychiatrist agreed that One Goh suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. “He’s locked up in shame, and remorse, and sadness. He’s not eating. He’s not taking good care of himself. I think he’s significantly mentally ill,” defense attorney David Klaus told KGO-TV.  It’s estimated Goh has lost up to 50 pounds since being arrested the day of the shootings at the Korean American Christian school. Goh will likely be sent to Napa State Hospital, but a final decision won’t be made by the judge until January 28.
