Press TV: Google Chair Eric Schmidt in North Korea to Hold Talks About Held Korean American

GoogleA US delegation made up of Google Chairman Eric Schmidt and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is in Pyongyang to ask about the status of a Korean American arrested by the North Koreans, reported Press TV.  Kenneth Bae was arrested for carrying what North Korean media said was a computer hard disk containing sensitive information. Bae is from Washington State and leading a tour group at the time of his arrest. “We’re going to try to inquire the status, see if we can see him; possibly lay the groundwork for him coming home,” said Richardson. The meeting is opposed by the US government and say Schmidt and Richardson are acting as private citizens. “They are traveling in an unofficial capacity. They are not going to be accompanied by any US officials. They are not carrying any messages from us,” Victoria Nuland of the US State Department said.
