A special two hour edition of Dateline this Friday on NBC will examine the Michele Le murder case, the San Francisco Bay Area nursing student killed by a jealous and paranoid girlfriend. The Marin IJ says the program will focus on the parents of two families who also lost their children to murderers and how they both assisted the Le family as it struggled with the uncertain fate of their then missing daughter. Carrie McGonigle, whose 14-year-old daughter Amber DuBois was killed near San Diego in 2009, organized the search team that found Le’s remains. Marc Klaas, whose 12-year-old daughterPolly was murdered in Sonoma County in 1993, assisted the family in its social media campaign and organized the first search parites.
