immigrant protestA new report out shows the Federal governments spends more money on immigration enforcement than all other law enforcement combined, reports KPCC. The revelation came out in a report titled “Immigration Enforcement in the United States: The Rise of a Formidable Machinery”  from the Migration Policy Institute.

The study indicates the Obama Administration spent nearly 18 billion dollars on immigration enforcement during the last fiscal year. That’s compared to the combined expenditures of 14.4 billion for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Secret Service, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The study looks at the evolution of immigration spending and how it got so big.
