poisoningThe grieving wife of a million dollar Indian American lottery winner says all she wants is the truth.

The Cook County coroner in Chicago suspects her husband, 46-year-old Urooj Khan, died of cyanide poisoning. The state attorney general is seeking a court order to have the body exhumed.

“We went from being the happiest the day we got the check. It was the best sleep I’ve had. And then the next day, everything was gone.” Shabana Ansari was quoted as saying in the Outlook.

She recalls feeding her husband his last meal the night before he died. Khan fell asleep in his chair, woke up in pain and then collapsed.

“We were married 12 years (and) he treated me like a princess,” she said. “He showered his love on me and now it’s gone.”

Ansari has undergone extensive questioning from police. Her attorney says she has nothing to hide.
