ABS CBN: Filipino Americcan in American Canyon Meet to Discuss Hateful Letters Targeting Pinoys

mail boxFilipino Americans in the San Francisco Bay Area met in a show of solidarity last night to figure out the next step in combating the hateful mail many of them received, reports ABS CBN. They say they will fight back by showing they stand united against racism.

One of the comments in the letter was directed at an interracial family.

“I thought they referred to us interracial kids like animals, like we were bred as our own race,” said Ashley Logan, the daughter of  Marie and Michael.

Her brother Josh added, “I thought it was mean that they would just send out a letter to people just to make them feel bad about their race.”

Filipino Americans in American Canyon say they are pleased at the response from the city, but will remain vigilant to make sure police stay on top of the situation.
