The family of a Chinese American from Los Angeles who is jailed in China says their father is being tortured, reports the Epoch Times.
Vincent Hu was arrested and charged with being involved with organized crime in China. His family says the charges are false and stem from a lawsuit Hu won against a Chinese police officer. China is refusing to acknowledge Hu’s American citizenship and won’t let the American embassy contact him.
His son Kenny Hu held a rally in Los Angeles in support of his father.
The police would place a prepared statement of confession before him, and beat him until he signed it. His 40-odd employees also received the same treatment,” Kenny Hu said at the rally.
Hu says his father often hosted Chinese officials in Los Angeles in an effort to court favor with them.
“Now I know that the Chinese Communist regime doesn’t follow the law,” he said. “They accuse my father of being a gang member, but the Chinese regime is actually the biggest gang of all.”
