The Houston Rockets have attracted the two highest profile Asian players in the history of the NBA. It started with Yao Ming who left a lasting legacy in Houston. It continues today with Jeremy Lin.
Latinos Post has an interesting article comparing their first seasons with the Houston Rockets
Yao got off to an awful start in Houston, but picked up his game in December. He spent his rookie year having an up and down year alternating between flashes of brilliance and playing like what you would expect most rookies would play like.
Lin has been much the same while the circumstances of his arrival are much different. Lin bounced between three different teams before returning to the Rockets this season. Like Yao, he also got off to a slow start. His play picked up in December after his return to New York to face his former team, the Knicks. He’s been playing well ever since. The Rockets can only hope the similarities don’t end there.
