George Takei gave an honest assessment of Jodie Foster’s speech at the Golden Globes accepting the Cecil B Demille Award. Takei described the speech to CNN Headline News as rambling, but very moving. He says it reminded him when he first publicly came out. Takei said he came out to his family and friends, and then finally to one reporter. Foster did the same, coming out to family and friends and then finally on the international stage confirming rumors she was a lesbian and a parent of two children.
Takei said he respected Foster’s appeal for privacy and welcomed her speech with open arms. You can hear the entire interview on CNN Headline News.
