There are many reasons Jeremy Lin should be named to the NBA All Star team and just as many why he should be excluded. The reasons outlined in the Bleacher Report are hard to argue with.
Supporters for Lin being on the All Star Team are all the intangibles.–his popularity with the fans in the United States and across the globe, the large number of votes he received in the fan balloting, and perhaps most importantly. the game will be played in front of his home fans in Houston.
Unfortunately for Lin, the numbers don’t support an all star appearance. His 12 points a game while respectable don’t compare well with others being considered. His assists totals are impressive but also behind the others. I give Lin a 30 percent chance of being named to the team, primarily because of his popularity and the fact that the game will be played on his home court. You can see the head to head comparison in the Bleacher Report . What do you think, does Jeremy Lin deserve an All Star selection?
