ballotAs you might expect, a multi-lingual poll of more than 9,000 Asian American voters is going to get you lots of data. Compiling it all in one report is a monstrous task.

The National Journal compiled the list of what it called the “ten most surprising statistics on the political leanings of Asian Americans.” The poll was conducted by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

Among some of the surprises, 79 percent were foreign born, but more than 84 percent said they knew English very well or moderately well. How Asian Americans voted often depended on where they lived, but an overwhelming number of first time voters went fro President Barack Obama.
