The woman whose picture was used in the twitter account for Manti Teo’s fake girlfriend says the perpetrator of the hoax has apologized to her.
Diane O’Meara told NBC’s Today show that her pictures were stolen over the last five years from her Facebook page by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo. Tuiasosopo went to high school with O’Meara, but the two were not close friends.
“I don’t think there’s anything he could say to me that would fix this,” said O’Meara

Tuiasosopo has so far not spoken publicly about the scandal.
