If popularity alone were the criteria for the NBA All Star Team, there’s no doubt Jeremy Lin would be named a reserve tomorrow for the Western Conference Team.
It wouldn’t be the first time someone was named due to their popularity or name recognition Jeremy got more fan votes than any other player not named to the starting line up. But unfortunately his numbers don’t make a strong case for him making the team even as a reserve. Perhaps if the Rockets had continued their winning ways, he’d still have a shot. But over the last two weeks, the team and Lin have fallen into a slump.
Counting tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets, the Rockets have loss eight straight game. That virtually kills any chance for Lin. And Lin himself has said he doesn’t feel like an All Star.
The International Business Times compares Lin’s numbers to other guys with a shot at making the team. I just don’t see it happening.
What do you think?
