Comcast viewers can get an inside glimpse at politics through the lens of Rep. Joseph Cao (R-LA), the first Vietnamese American elected to congress. Cao navigated some treacherous waters as a moderate Republican, the first from his party to hold a congressional seat from New Orleans.
Mr. Cao is directed by S. Leo Chiang and is now available for viewing on Comcast on Demand.
“When I first learned about Joseph Cao, I was immediately intrigued by the thoroughly unusual circumstances around his election” said Chiang. “How was it possible that a Vietnamese-American Republican could win a congressional district that is 65% African-American and 75% Democratic, especially in the polarized, ultra-partisan political climate of today? As it turns out, Joseph himself is also a man of fascinating contradictions.”
The story is a fascinating one and you can learn more about it in this article from Comcast
