The Thalbot School of Theology near Anaheim, CA will be offering a new Doctor of Ministry track in Asian-American Ministry in June of 2013, according to The Good Book
The two week program is geared towards anyone who pastors or leads Asian-Americans in a church. Thalbot believes the track is needed because it says Asian American churches are different from the typical western church. Everything from language, people and even humor are different. The track will retrain leaders in their cultural context.
Secondly Thalbot thinks many Asian American pastors are becoming tired and discouraged. Its hope the program will help renewal and re-energize them.
And finally this special training is aimed at reforming the Asian American church of the future and develop the next generation of leaders.
