Brooklyn Net Deron Williams got his revenge on Jeremy Lin, but the personal victory was bitter sweet as the Houston Rockets creamed the Nets 119-106.
Newsday reports that Williams scored the Net’s first 9 points, finished with 20 in the quarter and 38 in the game before being ejected with 1:08 left for arguing a foul call.
It was just about a year ago when Lin’s performance turned into the debut for Linsanity. Lin came off the bench in that game and scored 25 points and seven assists against Williams. This year Williams was determined not to let that happen again. He was unstoppable.
“We put some different guys on him,” Rocket Coach Kevin McHale said. “Three of those shots, nine points of those shots were like, ‘Shake his hand.’ I figured he couldn’t keep making those and if he did, we weren’t going to have much of a chance to win anyway.”

Lin finished the game with 14 points, nine assists and six turnovers.
“It’s nothing I haven’t seen for 30-plus years in the NBA,” McHale said of Lin’s play this year. “Young guys are inconsistent, young guys are finding out their game. You do something well for two or three games, they take it away from you. Then you have to go to Plan B.”
