A suspect has been identified in the beating of eight Asian Americans on New York elevators in East Harlem, reports Metro.
He has been identified as 34-year old 34-year-old Jason Commisso. He’s described as 6-foot-1 and 200 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes. His last known address was in Queens.
Police say they identified him from surveillance tapes showing him using a credit card from one of the victims. The New York Police Department has stepped up their presence in East Harlem. Additional officers have been assigned to the area, to join members of the hate crime task force and officers from five other units.
