Another attraction is coming to San Diego’s Balboa Park.

The Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego (JAHSSD) has moved from its former location in Kearny Mesa to its new space alongside the San Diego History Center.

The public is invited to an open house to tour the new facility on Monday, the official President’s Day holiday.

Linda Canada, the past president of the JAHSSD has been engaged in discussions with the History Center on sharing the space, reported the San Diego Uptown News. Both parties reached an agreement at the end of last year.

“I have had a long association with the San Diego History Center and knew they had some unused space,” said  Canada,

The JAHSSD museum has collections of 40 reel-to-reel tapes, 20 cassette tapes and three file drawers filled with transcripts, which will serve as a window to showcase the little-known history of Japanese Americans.
