Bleacher Report: Don’t Be Dissing Jeremy Lin, @Jlin7

basketballA blog in the Bleacher Report by Tim Keeney asserts that its too early to call Jeremy Lin a bust. While its true his numbers are down from last season, a closer look at his stats reveals calling him a bust would be “narrow-minded and flat out incorrect.”

Keeney points out that Lin’s scoring average is down just two points per game. That’s incredible when you consider the ball  Lin is getting a lot less touches than he was in New York. With the Knicks, Lin was the floor general and the ball went through his hands 28.1 percent of the times. With the Rockets, it’s James Harden that gets all the touches. Harden gets the ball 29.2 percent of the time to Lin’s 19.8 percent.

The formula seems to be working as the Rockets have the fourth highest scoring average of 109.7 points per 100 possessions.

Lin also does better on defense than most give him credit for. More on that and other surprising statistics in the Bleacher Report.

Going into the second half of the season, what do you think? How would you rate Jeremy Lin’s performance so far. Let us know what you think.
