Jeremy Lin has seemingly had to fight for everything he’s ever gotten from basketball.
From his invitation to play on the Harvard basketball team when no other college wanted the Palo Alto High grad, to his roster spot on the Golden State Warriors when no team would even draft him let along invite him in for a tryout, to his rise off the bench for the New York Knicks months after being cut on Christmas Day by the Houston Rockets, Lin has earned everything.
It should then come as no surprise then that Lin has been quoted as saying to CSN Houston that he’s glad he didn’t make the NBA All Star Team.
“I’m kind of thankful I didn’t get voted because when … I want to make sure I’m fully, fully deserving of it, when I play. And I didn’t feel like that was the case this year,” Lin said.

As Bleacher Report points out, Lin fully knows that making the All Star team would have pushed out someone more deserving and the point guard doesn’t want that to happen. When he makes the team, he wants to know he’s truly deserving. And judging from the early results from a unscientific online poll currently being conducted by Bleacher Report, most fans believe he’s going to get there some day. As of this writing Tuesday morning, 62 percent say he’s going to be an All Star in the future.
Do you agree. Is Jeremy Lin All Star material? We’d love to see your comments.
