Director Justin Lin of Better Luck Tomorrow and Fast & the Furious, Tokyo Drift fame has reportedly been asked by Warner Bros to direct the new project based on a yet unnamed upcoming novel by best selling author Patrick Lee.
Deadline reports the project will center around the adventures of ex special operative Sam Dryden and his mission to protect a mysterious young girl.
Lin has been one of the hottest directors in Hollywood since taking over the Fast & Furious series. Other projects he reportedly will do include a movie based on the LA riots and another movie adaptation of David Henry Hwang’s play, Chinglish.
The Lee project is scheduled to be released in 2014.
