Jazz sensation Norah Jones is set to perform at the Academy Awards Sunday night, reports India West.
The daughter of the late Indian sitar legend Ravi Shankar will perform Everybody Needs a Best Friend from the movie Ted.
“I’m excited. I think it’ll be really fun. It’s a really cool, unique experience for me to get to perform the song at the Oscars because Seth (McFarlane) is hosting and he’s my friend. To get to be a part of his film is super fun, but for him to be hosting and for me to still get to go and perform with my buddy hosting, that’s super fun! I’m excited,” Jones said in a statement.
The song she wil be performing was co-written by Jones & McFarlane, who is also hosting the televised Hollywood showcase on ABC at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, 5:30 p.m. Pacific.
Jones talked about her upcoming Indian tour with India West.
