Crowds five to ten people deep along the parade crowd jammed the streets of San Francisco last night for the annual Chinese New Years Parade.
This year’s parade featured a 258 foot long dragon carried by more than 100 people. At times, parade organizers set off firecrackers 20,000 at a time along the parade route.
One 86-year old parade goer has been coming to this parade since he was 6.
“It was a little quieter back then,” Jeff Chin told the SF Chronicle. “As you get older, it gets harder to tolerate the noise, but I like the crowds.”
