The nation’s number 1 television network, CBS, has yet another hit on its hands. The latest adaptation of Sherlock Holmes stars Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock and Lucy Liu in a gender bending role as Watson.
The two talked to Digital Spy about the first season.
“In the beginning when I sat down and had a meeting with [series creator] Rob Doherty, I said to him, ‘Are you sure you want to use Sherlock Holmes and Watson,” said Liu? “You can change the names to anything. Anything! You could make it, like, two different names that people won’t recognize and you won’t feel as much pressure! Why not?”
Jonny agreed.
“I had many reservations initially about the whole show honestly, but New York just seemed quite perfect for me, I have to say – I mean, there is nowhere more London than London, but in my previous experience of New York City… it’s perfect, in my opinion, so I was very excited by that.”
