Federal regulators today shut down one of the cheapest options to get from New York to Boston, the Fung Wah Bus Company, reports Slate, The closure comes just days after inspectors found “cracks in steering axles, motor mounts, engine cradles, and other locations.” and 21 of the company’s 28 buses had to be pulled from service.

The company ranks among the bottom 3 percent of drivers for experience and training.  Inspectors said they would continue a thorough review of the company.
