More than 1,000 mourners packed the Aratani/Japan America Theater in Little Tokyo to remember the man the theater was named after.
George Aratani died at the age of 95 last month.
He founded both Mikasa Tableware and Kenwood Electronics, but more importantly left a legacy for his philanthropy and efforts in the Japanese American community, reports KABC.
“He was synonymous with financial support for almost every cause in the Japanese-American community,” said Bill Watanabe of the Little Tokyo Service Center.
