Times of India: Supporters of Narendra Modi Condemn Wharton Decision to Withdrawal Invitation to Speak

Narendra ModiControversial Indian leader Narendra Modi will speak to U.S. audiences after all.

The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania this week rescinded an invitation to speak after pressure from Indian American professors at Penn.

Now the Overseas Friends of BJP have invited Modi to address via satellite audiences in Chicago & New Jersey, reports Times of India.

Many predict Modi could be the next Prime Minister of India. But his detractors accuse him of standing idle while thousands were massacred during anti-Muslim riots in 2002  in Gujarat.

“The Wharton Forum would have given the students a chance to ask the Gujarat chief minister hard questions,” Ron Somers,  president of the US-India Business Council, said.

More reaction to this controversy can be found in the Times of India.
