Bobby Ghosh, Time International EditorThe Times of India reports that the first Indian American star journalists happened way before Fareed Zakaria or Sanjay Gupta.

Gobind Behari Lal won the Pulitzer Prize in 1937 for specialized science reporting. He worked until 1982 when he died at the age of 92.

More than 20 years later, many more Indian Americans have followed Lal.

Time recently announced that Bobby Ghosh has been named editor of  Time International.  the announcement of Ghosh’ appointment was quite flattering.

”Bobby, quite simply, is a magnificent journalist who has done the highest level of work that one can aspire to in our profession.” wrote Time in a news release.
