CATEGORIES

DoctorA delegation from San Francisco-based Hep B Free recently met with leaders from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington DC and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, reported Asian Week.

“We are heartened by the national leadership for ending viral hepatitis disease in America,” said Fiona Ma, honorary chairperson of Hep B Free, “and we are excited to explore more ways for sharing the Hep B Free model of mobilizing collective action for sustainable prevention efforts to end Hep B disease.”

During discussion, the delegation focused on issues such as utilizing health information technologies to prevent hepatitis B virus, taking advantage of the Centers for Disease Control’s grant program for early identification of the disease, and increasing collaboration among cities at National Hepatitis Testing Day.
