Two Asian American groups have filed suit in an 11th hour bid to stop construction of Walmart in Los Angeles Chinatown, reports Patch.
The Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) and the Southeast Asian Community Alliance sued the city of Los Angeles for not allowing enough time for public comments before issuing the building permits.
Many fear the superstore will not fit in in Chinatown and have a negative impact on small business.
Walmart plans to open the store later this year and construction is already underway.
