Bleacher Report: @Jlin7, Not James Harden, Key to @HoustonRockets Playoff Success

LinsanityJames Harden may score the bulk of the points, even control the ball more in the Houston Rockets offense; but according to a blog by Kenny Dejohn in the Bleacher Report, Jeremy Lin is the key to the Rockets playoff hopes.

Coach Kevin McHale doesn’t seem to know what to do with Lin. The Harvard grad is the starting point guard, but McHale seems to favor Harden not only shooting the ball, but distributing it. Lin also mysteriously sits on the bench in crunch time moments during the fourth quarter watching back up Patrick Beverley running the offense.

Dejohn argues when Lin does get the ball, he does good things with it scoring 13 point 2 a game and 6.1 assists per game. Imagine what he could do if he were allowed to touch the ball more.

The Rockets score 106 points a game, tops in the NBA.  Getting increased productivity for Lin would make the Rockets difficult to beat.

You can read more about Dejohn’s thinking in the Bleacher Report.
