Rockets down by three when James Harden missed the potential game tying shot with time winding down. A mad scramble for the ball pursued. Lin gets it and fakes a shot before finding an open Chandler Parsons who fired a wild 34 foot line drive shot. Swoosh, through the nets.
The game goes into overtime, but the Rockets would ultimately fall to the Lakers 99-95 and drop to the 8th and final seed in the Western Conference Playoffs.
The Rockets will play the first seed Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday in the first round of the playoffs.
It will be the Rockets first playoff appearance in 3 years and Jeremy Lin’s first.
“Everyone wants to experience it,” said Lin to the Ultimate Rockets. “Who wouldn’t want it? Definitely for me, it’s something I’m looking forward to.
“It’s one of those things I can’t really prepare as well because I’ve never experience it. But for me, it’s like every rookie. You go into your rookie season hoping to do really well, you don’t know what to expect, but you’re hoping for the best and you’re working hard to give yourself the best opportunity. That’s what I’m doing and we’re doing as a team.”
