Huff Post: Horrible Debut for News Anchor Gets Him Fired

CATEGORIES

A local news anchor was fired after one of the the first words uttered in his debut were “F—king s–t,” reported the Huffington Post

AJ Clemente did not realize he was on the air as his frustrations surfaced over the difficulty he had in pronouncing someone’s name.

Co-anchor Van Tieu tried to cover up for Clemente, quickly cutting him off and introducing him to viewers.

She would later issue an on air apology for the station, KFYR, an NBC affiliate in North Dakota.

“We were caught off guard and [Clemente] didn’t realize his microphone was on. And while that was no excuse – we do train our reporters to always assume that any microphone is live at any time – unfortunately we cannot take back what was said. But, we do apologize and hope that you may forgive us and rest assured, that something like this will not happen again.,” she said.

Clemente later issued his own apology via Twitter, but KFYR has decided to part ways with him.
