Authorities in Providence say its very likely a body pulled from the Providence River is that of missing Brown University student Sunil Tripathi, reports the Huffington Post.
The Indian American student was last seen more than a month ago by his roommate. One officer says “it’s very very possible” the body found near the Wyndham Garden Providence Hotel is that of Tripathi. The coach of Brown’s rowing team spotted the body floating in the river and called police.
An autopsy was conducted Wednesday to determine the identity of the body, but the results if known have not been released.
The discovery comes just a week after Tripathi was incorrectly identified by some of those using the crowd source site Reddit as the Boston Marathon bomber.
