George Takei is expected to emcee the National Corporate Theatre Fund’s (NCTF) annual Chairman’s Awards gala Monday evening, reported Playbill.
More than 300 theatre guests, Broadway stars and industry professionals from across the country will show up. The event will raise funds for NCTF’s member theaters in the country.
“NCTF creates and supports exciting partnerships at the intersection of the corporate and arts communities — relationships that are central to the success of theatre and the vitality of communities in which they are based,” said Bruce E. Whitacre, executive director of NCTF, in a statement.
Tony Award nominee Vanessa Williams is among the honorees at the event, which is slated to begin with cocktails at 6:30pm Monday. NCTF is an association of 19 nonprofit theatres in the United States.
