CBS Houston: GM Daryl Morey Gives @Jlin7 High Marks

CATEGORIES

LinsanityHouston Rocket General Manager Daryl Morey doesn’t think Jeremy Lin deserves the harsh criticism he’s been getting following the Rockets ouster from the first round of the playoffs, reports CBS Houston.

Lin had a poor first game, then became injured in game two and never really got on track. The only game the Rockets won were games 4 and 5, which Lin sat out due to his injury.

Patrick Beverley played well starting in place of Lin and many wondered if the Rockets would be better off without the former Harvard point guard.

Not so, says Morey.

“I think people are focusing a little too much about the injury issue late and how that affected his playoff series.  On average, Jeremy had a very good defensive year,” Morey said, “(He’s) very good at distributing the ball, and one of the top players in blocked shots and steals.  Overall, he had an extremely good year and we’re no where near the playoffs without Jeremy Lin.”

He also pointed to Lin’s exceptional skills with the pick and roll, his high number of steals, and even his ability to block shots when compared to other point guards.

Overall, Morey is pleased the Rockets even made the playoffs. You can read more about Morey’s evaluation of the Rockets on CBS Houston.
