Miami Herald: Voter Turnout Among Asian Americans Remains Stable

voteA census study on voter turnout found Asian American voter turnout in 2012 remained stable, despite an overall drop in voting, reports the Miami Herald.

Turnout dropped among all groups for the second consecutive election from 64 percent in 2004 to 62 percent in 2012. Despite that, Asian American turnout remained relatively stable at 47 percent.

Still Asian Americans had the lowest turnout among all ethnic groups measured.

Blacks had the highest turnout, actually increasing to 66.2 percent in 2012, up from 64.7 percent in 2008.

Whites on the other hand fell to 64. 1 percent,  from 66.1 percent in the previous presidential election.

Hispanics also fell to 49.9 percent in 2008 to 48 percent.
