The comments made by the Mayor of Osaka that comfort women forced into sexual slavery for the Japanese military “were necessary are contemptible and repulsive,” said Rep Mike Honda. (D-California)
“Mayor Hashimoto’s comments demonstrate why a formal acknowledgement, apology, and acceptance of historical responsibility in a clear and unequivocal manner by the Government of Japan is still necessary.” said Honda.
Honda’s remarks were published in the Global Post.
RE: Rep Mike Honda condemns remarks on comfort women from Osaka Mayor: Where is the “honorable” Mike Honda now? http://j.mp/UuiEkq. So Mike, are you now going to take Japanese money and press for a House Resolution to condemn the South Korean government and promote memorials in the US for US Servicemen that forced now “millions of women over decades” into sexual slavery? South Korea is now being sued for Comfort Women provided to the US and UN soldiers AFTER WWII. Mike? Mike??? Anyone seen Mike lately? Oh Mike Honda???? Oh thats right, he wasn’t paid lobby money for this issue. What a farce.
