HealthSeptember 11 sent many Southeast Asian American into a panic.

Many still have vivid memories of the Vietnam War and suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

When the planes hit, they feared they would have to live in a war zone all over again, according to NewsTimes.com.

Yet many did not seek mental health treatment to ease their fears.

“The older generation is very reluctant to access medical care,” and “the mental health stigma is very high,” said Mui Mui Hin-McCormick, executive director of Connecticut’s Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission

70 percent of Southeast Asians seeking mental health care suffer from PTSD.
