The powerful House Appropriations Committee has passed an amendment that challenges the racial profiling of South Asians at many US airports, reports the Jagran Post.

“Far too many Sikh, South Asian, Muslim and Arab passengers face additional security screenings at our airports every time they fly,” said Congresswoman Judy Chu.

“While we must have screening policies in place to keep our airports and skies safe, we must also ensure that discrimination does not occur. Racial profiling does not make us safer,” she said.
The amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations Act was moved by Rep. Mike Honda. It calls for an investigation into racial profiling of

Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, and other South Asians at US airports.
You can read more about the amendment in the Jagran Post.
